Yaldaynu (“our children”) is a welcoming neighborhood preschool that provides quality early childhood education. Yaldaynu is a place where excellent education, grounded in the Reggio Emilia and constructivist approach, is seamlessly combined with Jewish values and cultures. Preschool Teachers

We are excited to invite new and experienced teachers to apply for full-time teacher positions for the 2022-23 school year. Our classrooms serve children ages 2-5 years old. Teachers work in teams and are supported by the Program Director. We are looking for responsible, passionate and creative teachers, who are lifelong learners with a positive attitude and a love for children.

Job Description:

• Plan, execute, and collaborate with other teachers on emergent curriculum

• Support and encourage the social, emotional and intellectual growth of all students

• Manage classroom to maintain a positive and nurturing environment, as well as providing meaningful learning experiences suited to each child

• Collaborate with your teaching team, as well as the Program Director, educational consultant, families, caregivers, and support service staff

• Document and reflect on children’s work and progress throughout the school year

• Communicate with families about the daily activities in the classroom, make learning visible and accessible

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in education or related field

• NYS Early Childhood Certification, working towards NYS Early Childhood Certification, or enrollment in an Early Education Degree Program (Strongly Preferred)

• Successful completion of background check, fingerprinting requirements, and specific training sessions according to the regulations set forth by NYC Department of Health

• Familiarity with progressive educational philosophies, such as Reggio Emilia

• Knowledge of and familiarity with Jewish tradition, practice and culture

• Patience and flexibility; ability to relate to young children and communicate with parents

Substitute Preschool Teachers

Yaldaynu is currently looking for substitute teachers for the 2022-23 school year, who will help support our full-time classroom teachers. We are looking for responsible, passionate and creative teachers who have a positive attitude and a love for children.

Hours for substitute teachers vary based on the need.

 

Qualifications: 

• Bachelor’s degree in education or related field or in a undergraduate degree program

• Successful completion of background check through the NYC Department of Health and fingerprinting with Identogo

• Experience with young children

Not Required But a Plus: 

• Familiarity with progressive educational philosophies, such as Reggio Emilia

• Knowledge of and familiarity with Jewish tradition, practice and culture
