Sukkot at Yaldaynu, like all other holidays, is an immersive, multi-sensory, and hands-on learning experience.
This week the children had a Lulav and Etrog set in class, read books about Sukkot, visited our building's rooftop Sukkah (for playtime and lunch), had a special visitor Rabbi Fried in class for a Lulav and Etrog workshop, and learnt about the holiday in other age appropriate ways.
After a discussion about decorating the Sukkah in the Yellow Door classroom, the children were interested in making their own decorations. They decided to make a hanging decoration using plastic beads, wooden beads, buttons, sticks, and pine-cones.
